Claude has long been fascinated with old photos taken at slow exposures, the blurry ghostlike images. Most common are nighttime time exposures, so of course he wanted to shoot daytime time exposures. So he went out and bought a couple of 

neutral density filters, upgraded his tripod and took-off for Santa Cruz.
